Q) When does the 2011 new model season start?
A) Bionicon follows the European Summer so the new season bikes become available in March each year.
Q) Do all the above models have adjustable geometry?
A) Same system in all the bikes, but different air cartridges in the fork
Q) Is it the same method to adjust the geometry - front and back?
A) Yes, just press the button and the bike goes down in the front and extends in the back. It´s stepless, so you can adjust it to every pitch. The air tubes are 10 times tighter than a tire and hold a pressure up to 120 bar and are extremely stiff.
Q) Do you need tools to move the rear shock positions and in what circumstances would you do that?
A) Just a 5mm allen key. The lowest position is good for high speed, the highest for technical riding. You just have to try the differences and see what is best for you. But it´s just a small change.
Q) Which bike made Bionicon famous - Was it the Edison?
A) Yes, but now it depends on your riding style - the Edison was our beginning and is now in its fourth generation.
Q) Who rides the SuperShuttle?
A) It's more of a back country free ride bike. Still unique and usable in all situations! I go with mine on alpcrossings as well as in the downhill park.
Q) What is the Ironwood like uphills?
A) Of course a bit heavier than all other models, but ages better than every 200mm bike on the market! Also depends a lot on the tires.
Q) Does the Bionicon system make the Ironwood a good all round option or is it more focused on downhill?
A) Its focus is on freeride and enduro, it´s not a downhill bike.
Q) What comes in the frame kit?
A) The frame (obviously), plus the seat post screwer, rear shock, adapter, tube system, button, front forks, headstem and handlebar - so its a really good bundle.
Q) The Bionicon bikes are already well spec'd. Do any of the bikes come with higher spec'd components?
A) Bikes like the Tesla and Ironwood are already very well spec'd so far as componentry goes. The Golden Willow, Edison, Frequency and Urban bikes are available in a variety of componentry standards. Simply use the contact us link or your speak with your local Bionicon dealer.
